Welcome to Ferndown Village Hall

Ferndown Village Hall

Ferndown Village Hall dates back to 1934 and really is the oldest charity in Ferndown!  It was gifted to the community for their use to provide an enjoyable space for leisure activities.  It is run solely by volunteers for the benefit of all residents of Ferndown.  We are continually looking for ways to improve or expand the facilities and upgrade and any monies made are ploughed back into the building and grounds.  Our ethos is to provide facilities so that people can enjoy hobbies, crafts, activities and social events at attractive and reasonable cost.  We like to support and help local organisations where we can and we are very proud of the diverse and extremely long list of community groups and clubs who use the hall just some of whom are listed on our website.  We are an entirely independent charity whose sole aim is to provide a bright and vibrant community building for the use of residents of Ferndown.

Len Hawker and Mick Arnold have been involved with Ferndown Village Hall for over 30 years.  We proudly named the committee room and the main hall after them as a way of recognising their loyalty and commitment to the hall over so many years.

A hall that has been standing for nearly 90 years will have good times and bad but with the help of willing supporters it is now stronger than ever.  The outside has just been decorated and looks very smart.  The Len Hawker Hall was revamped in April and there are plans for the Mick Arnold Room to be updated as soon as funds allow.

The Len Hawker Hall has disabled access, a clean and well equipped kitchen, a lobby and clean toilets, including a toilet for the disabled. The hall is large with space for 240 people standing or 120 seated and a great stage with excellent lighting and sound facilities plus dressing rooms. There are facilities to plug in your own sound system. Tables and chairs are available for your use. There is a large car park at the rear of the building which can take 50 cars plus extra parking at the front for disabled use and deliveries to the kitchen. There is a camera recognition system operating in the car park but you can request the gate is up for your guests.

The Meeting Room has its own toilet facilities, a kitchenette and disabled ramps for access.  It can accommodate up to 40 people seated and has tables and chairs in situ. There is also an electric piano for your use.

We now have a third room (The Studio Room) which has been upgraded and renovated, again with its own toilet facilites and kitchenette for drinks hot or cold and can accommodate upto 50 people seated and has tables and chairs in situ also with a digital piano. This will ease our booking demands as the hall is very popular with a wide range of activities from theatre to yoga and everything in between.

There is free wifi in all the rooms at the hall and the access code is displayed in each room should you need to use it.

Remember - This hall and these facilities are yours!
